I’ve spent most of my day watching the Cooking Channel, and WOW! Color me hungry and inspired! I just caught a show called Sweet Julia and I’ve got to say that I LOVE her! Julia Baker is a pastry chef, but she makes it look so easy that I’ve decided to try one of her recipes for this here site.
I’ve had a little stomach flu for the last 24 hours, but that didn’t stop me from drooling over the recipe for “Francois Premier” – although she says it with a french accent so it sounds so cool – and as soon as I am better, I’m totally trying this recipe!
Admittedly, I am a little intimated, but since I’ve decided that this is just a baby step into the world of awesomeness, I’m going for it. I’ve made brownies, mousse and ganache before, but the way she puts it together just looks so divine! I can’t wait to try this. Now, I don’t have round molds, but I’m thinking that my mini cupcake pan would do the trick, although they will be smaller than hers, it’s all I have to use. Unless I find a mold, which would totally be cool for making Snowballs later, so it might be something for me to look for before I make this. Not sure yet.
…on a side note – I’ve got neighbors in the farm up the road shooting today and the bang bang banging is driving me nut nut nutty!
Anyway, I’m a lover of chocolate mousse and I was so glad to see that her recipe resembled mine! I’ve been making chocolate mousse for about 5 years now, but I have never thought of putting it into a mold – what an ingenious idea! Color me SOLD!
Check back soon, as I am planning on making this sooner than later. Doesn’t it look so divine? The gold leaf I will leave out, just because I’m not into edible gold leaf personally, but it sure made hers look just decadent, didn’t it?
What do you think? Would you like to see my shot at this culinary masterpiece? I can’t wait to feel better! I’m thinking that this dessert would be great for a little dinner get together I am planning next month. It’s really easy to make and I’m looking to wow my guests! I LOVE to entertain!
Until later, my friends!
